Nayan Das, the Shariatpur correspondent for Dhaka Post, was reportedly attacked by unidentified miscreants in the Goshairhat upazila. On February 26, 2026, while on his way to collect news, attackers intercepted his motorcycle at Nagerpara Bazar, assaulted him, and fled the scene. He was admitted to the Goshairhat Upazila Health Complex in critical condition on the morning of February 27, 2026. The victim suspects that individuals involved in drug trafficking and gambling syndicates are behind the assault.
