Local journalists and multiple media outlets have confirmed an attack on Johar Hasan Sagor, the Tala Upazila correspondent for the Khulna based Dainik Voice of Tiger and a member of the Tala Press Club. The assault was reportedly carried out by Nuru Islam, the Joint Convener of the Khalilnagar Union Jubo Dal, on the evening of February 25, 2026, at Hazrakati Bazar. The victim stated that Nuru Islam had been issuing death threats against him through various intermediaries for some time prior to the attack.
