A vehicle carrying three journalists was intercepted and attacked near the Railway Station at Noakhali Government Mohila College intersection on the night of February 11, 2026. The victims include Mahabubul Hasan Chowdhury (District Correspondent, Bangladesh Betar), Mujahidul Islam Tanvir (Sadar Correspondent, Dainik Ajker Noakhali), and Moksed Ahmed Tanvir (Reporter, E Somoyer Noakhali). Despite presenting their official ID cards and Election Commission vehicle passes, the journalists were verbally abused and assaulted. The attackers confiscated their mobile phones and a tripod, keeping them besieged for about an hour before releasing them.
