The Facebook page of ‘The Dissent’, a Dhaka-based digital investigative news outlet, has been unpublished due to multiple fake copyright strikes, according to its editor, Qadaruddin Shishir. The incident occurred around noon on January 17, 2026. The editor informed Bangladesh Media Monitor that their page was targeted with 9 to 10 fake copyright claims. Just a few days ago, the outlet had published a report investigating how fake copyrights are being used as a tool to unpublish Facebook pages.
