Akramul Islam, the local correspondent for Jamuna TV, was attacked while collecting news on fertilizer sales in Ashashuni Upazila, Satkhira. The incident occurred on January 15, 2026. Mazed Gazi, a fertilizer dealer, Kulla Union Parishad member and owner of M/S Gazi Enterprise along with his son Anwar and their associates, launched a sudden attack. In addition to physical assault, the attackers vandalized the journalist’s camera and microphone.
