BBC Bangla has confirmed with top officials from Prothom Alo and The Daily Star that neither newspaper will be published this Friday. The online operations of both media outlets have also largely come to a standstill. Authorities informed BBC Bangla that following the sudden late-night attacks, vandalism and arson, all staff members were ordered to evacuate the offices immediately. Under these circumstances, all operations have been temporarily suspended, making it impossible to bring out the printed editions for Friday. These incidents occurred during the midnight hours of December 18, 2025.
